CV

Already having a CV for an everyday-type job, an academic CV, an industry CV is now needed in preparation for when it comes to me looking to get into the career I am after within my chosen industry. Film. Before making a start on constructing my own resume, research into existing products will have to be done first helping me gather a better idea of how my CV should result, so I can then gain a better chance at being hired into the industry. CV RESEARCH.docx from AmyKilbride2 Coming across some very useful websites, a lot of digging had been done with tips and tricks on how to create the ideal industry resume. What will be slightly troubling to work out is what should and shouldn't be included on the CV as when looking at multiple different websites, they're obviously going to say the opposite thing with some sections. From here though, I must figure it out as I now make a start. For the first draft, I will be using the Indeed layout for the base, guiding me as I make a ...

Personal Statement

Preparing for my university application, a personal statement is needed. Using the personal statement builder on the UCAS website, the layout was split into three sections helping me know what to write and in what order. Finding this very helpful, the document is ready... Personal statement.docx from AmyKilbride2 Only being a first draft, an updated version will be made to make it the best it can be before getting sent off. Sending it over to a lecturer, they have assisted in pointing out the changes that should be made to the personal statement. PS draft 2.docx from AmyKilbride2 Using the suggested corrections, a somewhat improvement for a second draft has been made. Not done there, a third is needed with the previous attempt still not being the best it could be. Personal Statement.docx from AmyKilbride2 Making a few final changes to the personal statement, it is now ready to be sent off with my application.

Working in the Media Industry

Needing to think about my future after my education, potential careers within the field of interest has been researched. With help from the official Gov.UK website, a list of all of the creative-related jobs had been listed allowing me to go through and pick out the ones that had interested me by first glance. Careers.docx from AmyKilbride2 Going with four options, by the end of researching them all I was left with two career options I would want to work towards having as my own career. Going with a film/TV director and a screenwriter, I will now be looking into nearby job vacancies for the two roles, and the platforms offering these opportunities. Jobs.docx from AmyKilbride2 Looking at five different websites, the results became repetitive really allowing me to come to a conclusion with this subject matter. An everyday job site is rarely, if ever, going to have something for someone wanting to be a part of the film industry. At least not with my case thinking about w...

Academic Research

Needing to look into universities and courses as much as I can before making a start in applying, notes were written up with certain elements I will be needing to keep in mind when doing the research. This involves the type of course and how it runs, leading to the accommodation. University.docx from AmyKilbride2 Having the key parts gathered now, a start on the actual research has been made. Academic Research.docx   from  AmyKilbride2 Taking a long while, I have finally managed to find five courses I will be applying for. Going through as much as I could about the success rates for a number of different universities, the grades they require and how assignments as such are assessed, enough intel had been gathered helping me figure out which institutes I would most likely be happy going to next year. Overtaking my original first choice, I have now found a course held at York University that I favour compared to the rest I was able to look into. Finding it to be th...
